This course covers the five Primary State pairs that make up the BE and KNOW domains of ST:AR.
They describe different dimensions of organization.
BE
BE concerns the basic organization of the self and its movement through life.
It contains three State pairs:
Whole / Fragmented
Whole:
I am complete. I am worthy. I am capable.
Fragmented:
I am incomplete. My worth is conditional. I cannot fully stand on my own.
This pair concerns the organization of the self.
Content / Scarcity
Content:
There is enough here. I can enjoy what is present without needing more to make me satisfied or valuable.
Scarcity:
There is not enough. I need more in order to be satisfied or valuable.
This pair concerns enoughness.
Fluidity / Resistance
Fluidity:
There are many ways to move. I can adapt, reorient, and remain open to possibilities.
Resistance:
There is one acceptable way. I must hold my course, and I depend on getting the outcome I need.
This pair concerns movement.
KNOW
KNOW concerns how reality is perceived and met.
It contains two State pairs:
Clarity / Delusion
Clarity:
I want to see what is actually here, independent of what I want, fear, or expect to be true.
Delusion:
My story becomes reality. I interpret what is here until it fits what I already believe or need to be true.
This pair concerns seeing reality.
Here, Delusion is not being used as a clinical diagnosis. In ST:AR, it refers to interpretation, assumption, or story replacing what is actually there.
Respect / Control
Respect:
I begin with reality as it is, including realities beyond my own.
Control:
Reality should be different. I need to make it conform to what I believe it should be.
This pair concerns the relationship with reality once it is encountered.
Respect does not mean agreement, approval, admiration, passivity, or surrender.
The States Accumulate
These States are sequential and cumulative in completeness.
Whole does not disappear when Content becomes available.
Content does not disappear when Fluidity develops.
BE remains active within KNOW.
Each State adds another dimension of organization while the earlier capacities remain present. Course Design Spec
So the course is not teaching five separate personality categories.
It is gradually building one larger picture:
Who am I?
Is there enough?
How can I move?
What is actually here?
Can reality be what it is?
Those five questions form the territory we will explore next.
We begin with the foundation:
